About

About me? I’m Kim. I live in a home on a couple of heavily wooded acres (my ‘tiny forest’) in the midst of a vast oak-pine forest in Alabama. The forest inspires and fascinates me. It sways and dances in the slightest breeze, it creaks and groans under heavier winds. It shelters all manner of other living things. It is very much alive.

The other forest dwellers are my dear, sweet, supportive husband; our two bright and beautiful daughters; and a very entertaining cat named Bilbo. We have a good life, full of learning and making and science fiction and coffee.

My earliest memories are of sewing, and over the years I’ve tried every kind of needlework and craft I could get my hands on.  A few years ago, I wanted to try distributing some of the patterns I come up with from time to time, and selling the overflow of the things I make.  I’ve tried several venues, both locally and online, but I’ve settled on blogging, Etsy, and Ravelry.  It’s only a hobby, but it’s fun and I meet many interesting and/or likeminded people.  (and yes, I did mean and/or.  ha!)
